Yosemite build debugging? (subversion-javahlbindings)

Does your build outside of MacPorts set all of the same environment variables that MacPorts does? I recall problems seen in other ports because MacPorts was setting MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET which triggered some different behavior.
