Judging by PEP 398 for v3.3 and PEP 494 for v3.6, v3.4 will live until around 03/2019 (no statement in its PEP 429).

Reasons for either?

Something like 'We support 3.5 and 3.6 but would allow 3.4 or whatever upstream supports' is needed.
