 I am afraid I cannot be of much help here. It works fine for me on 10.15.7
 and thus cannot reproduce the problem. Especially if you seem the same
 problem with the binary you downloaded from upstream it's hard to believe
 that this is a MacPorts specific problem at least for the Spyder port. It
 could be that the underlying issue is in py-pyobjc but that is pretty hard
 to debug...

 Indeed if the problem only manifests itself when you quit the program,
 than it's not ideal but should be a workable situation.
