Macports Newbie - XServe use

Well I got the XServe today. I'm now grabbing XCode. A few questions.  
Are you using Open Directory or Netinfo (Standalone or Open Directory  
Master when you setup the serve)? What kind of errors are you  
getting? Anything in system.log? I'm mainly asking about MySQL and  
Apache here.
