Installed macports what to do next

The ports tree is the collection of recipes that tell MacPorts how to install ports. When you download MacPorts from our web site, that includes only MacPorts itself, not the ports tree. The disk image installer will run "sudo port selfupdate" for you after it runs. If rsync were working on your network, this would have fetched the ports tree for you. Since rsync is not working on your network, you need to get the ports tree another way. As we discussed last time you brought this up on the list, there are a couple http-based alternatives you can use. Pick one of these:
